Eyelid surgery can improve both appearance and comfort, and many procedures can be safely performed right in the office. In this video, the team at the Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute explains how upper blepharoplasty is performed, what patients can expect during the procedure, and how in-office eyelid surgery is designed to be a comfortable and safe experience.
At the Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute, we commonly perform eyelid surgery in the office.
In an upper blepharoplasty procedure, the eyelid skin is carefully marked to ensure an appropriate amount of skin is to be excised.
The procedure can be done under local anesthesia in the office or in the surgery center under light sedation.
The skin is excised, leaving the underlying muscles intact, and excess fat is also debulked in order to provide a nice contour of the eyelid.
We strive to make our in-office surgeries a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
