Multifocal lens implants (watch a short video about accommodating these implants) are advanced technology lens implants that correct your presbyopia in addition to replacing your cataract. Presbyopia is the inability to focus at near, typically starting in your forties.

Multifocal Implants

Multifocal implants provide the most natural vision as they give good distance and near vision with each eye, not separately as in monovision.

There is no guarantee that you will be glasses–free after surgery, but they are designed to decrease or eliminate your dependence on glasses.

Multifocal lens implants are more likely to restore your vision to what it was like many years ago.

If you also have astigmatism your eye surgeon may elect to correct this at the time of cataract surgery. There is an additional charge because this premium upgraded lens implant is not covered by Medicare or medical insurance.
