A common complaint in an oculoplastic clinic is “droopy upper eyelids.”  Sometimes the problem rests with the upper eyelid skin, the upper eyelid muscles, or the brow position.

Descent of the forehead and eyebrow is a normal feature of aging and may contribute to the heaviness and fullness of your upper eyelids; this is commonly referred to as “hooding.” The brow and forehead can be elevated in a variety of different surgical approaches, and each procedure is tailored to an individual’s anatomy. Restoring the brow and forehead to a higher position can lead to a more youthful appearance with eyes that feel and look more awake.

The Endoscopic Brow and Forehead Lift is a minimally invasive approach to cosmetically lifting the brow and forehead. An endoscope camera is utilized through small incisions behind the hairline to release the ligamentous attachments and elevate the brow and forehead to the desired position. This procedure is commonly performed at the same time as eyelid surgery. Recovery time is approximately 1-2 weeks with bruising and swelling.

Our oculoplastic surgeons will evaluate your periorbital anatomy and determine what is contributing to your upper eyelid’s hooded appearance.
