Patricia Diaz Nagel, A.R.N.P.

Patricia Diaz Nagel, A.R.N.P. is an ophthalmic nurse practitioner in Plantation. She specializes in diagnosing and treating eye conditions and diseases.

Patricia received her medical degree in Venezuela at the Central University of Venezuela in 1998, where she practiced medicine in impoverished communities until 2001. From there, she completed a two-year fellowship in general surgery at Hospital Periférico de Pariata in Caracas, Venezuela.

Patricia then went on to complete an ophthalmology residency at Risquez Hospital in Caracas, Venezuela from 2003 to 2005 and her pediatric ophthalmology residency at San Juan de Dios Hospital from 2005 to 2007. For the next decade, she practiced ophthalmology in both private and hospital settings before moving to the United States in 2017.

Patricia went on to join Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute in 2018 as an ophthalmic technician, and in 2020 became a clinical research coordinator for the Clinical Research Department. During her time in that role, she worked on several cutting-edge trials primarily treating patients with diseases of the retina.

While working as an ophthalmic technician, Patricia was also in school to become a nurse. After receiving her nursing degree in 2020, she then went on to receive her Nursing Practitioner degree in 2022 from Miami Regional University where she graduated on the President’s List with Honors. Patricia is board-certified by the Florida Board of Nursing as well as the Florida Board of Nurse Practitioners.

As an ophthalmic nurse practitioner at Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute, Patricia works alongside our team of ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive eye care services to our patients. She is dedicated to using her extensive experience in the ophthalmology field to provide high quality care for patients with ocular conditions.
