OVERVIEW:
Coordinate scheduling of surgical procedures and obtain all necessary information regarding the surgery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule and coordinate all surgical cases
- Recommend surgery times and dates while ensuring that adequate space and time is allowed for completion of each surgery.
- Review in detail procedure discuss cosmetic/lens options with patient and fees associated with add-ons
- Discuss medical clearance requirements in detail and the due dates
- Call and schedule patient for medical clearance with PCP, if surgical date is in the next 1-2 weeks
- Review with patient insurance benefits and explain ALL out of pocket expenses
- Answer and return all calls from patient and surgery facilities (ASC or Hospital) within 24 hours
- Verify each surgery is scheduled properly with the facility and the availability of operating rooms.
- Review future schedules based on physicians’ schedules.
- Schedule A Scans and review all pre op and drop instructions and review medication list
- Coordinate in office laser date and schedule every 4-6- weeks
- Inform patients about the logistics of their surgery; assist patient with submission of insurance and preliminary financial arrangements and pre-certify surgeries with appropriate insurance companies; generally, be a source of information regarding all logistical aspects of the surgical process.
- Discuss advance testing.
- Collect all fees associated with surgery PRIOR to surgery date
- Discuss options for adding lens & cosmetic procedures to surgery.
- Call patients after surgery to follow up and check on their well-being.
- Follow up with all patients that cancel surgery / reschedule / have not scheduled surgery

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; and three to six month’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
