Hi, I’m Dr. Aliza Epstein, board-certified oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute.
In this video, I want to talk about the expectations after eyelid surgery.
It’s important to understand you’re going to have bruising and swelling for one to two weeks after surgery. So you’re not going to look great immediately after surgery.
But usually by one month after surgery, you look pretty much back to normal. Final healing, though, can really take at least a few months.
Expect to take a lot of time off that first week. No heavy lifting, bending over, or straining for a week, and no exercise for a week.
I usually recommend also taking the first week off after surgery, one week off of work. And expect to be doing a lot of icing in the first few days, using the ointment.
We are here for you at Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute to answer any and all questions after your surgery.
